While the Michigan State University Museum has a wonderful collection of garments, they haven’t been frequently used. With the success of the Up Cloche exhibition and other recent developments, it was decided that the collection would benefit from some attention.
The first step of this process is a thorough survey of the condition of the garments in the collection. This will allow us to get a clear picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the collection. With that knowledge we can develop clear collection development and preservation policies, as well as discover pieces to use in upcoming exhibits.
